How to give your car a perfect wash?

Washing a car on your own is an exciting and relaxing activity. It not only saves money but will also give you a satisfying feeling. It allows you to give extra attention to especially dirty areas of your vehicle. Washing your car by hand will allow you to keep the vehicle and paint job in pristine condition.

Here’s how you can give your car a perfect wash it needs:

Park your car in the shade and then start washing. Avoid washing it in direct sunlight, as it runs the risk of your car becoming hot while you wash it. Moreover, the water evaporates more quickly and makes the cleaning process more difficult.

Make sure all the windows are closed and pull the windshield wipers away from the windshield until they click into their propped position, apart from the glass.

Set everything that you need to wash your car, e.g., a bucket, sponge, hose, brush, car wash detergent/soap, wash mitts, and towels.

Hose off the car to loosen and soften the dirt. Give it a gentle run of water all over your vehicle. If you are using a jet, don’t use a strong spray of water.

Start with the wheels first. We’ll tell you why. The wheels of your car are the dirtiest. Hence, it’s a good idea to wash them first to rinse the dirt off of the wheels, and it doesn’t settle on an already-clean part of your car. Use the hard brush off the dust from the wheels.

Soak the clean sponge or a large wash mitt in detergent. Never use a brush on the car body, because this may leave little scratches. Wash your car section by section—first wheels and then the top. Washing the car from the top down will allow soap to drip over lower parts of the car while you’re still washing higher sections.

Keep the sponge and wash mitt clean. Rinse the dirt out of the wash mitt or sponge in the bucket with plain water frequently. And also keep an eye on the water, if the water in the bucket has become dirty, throw it out and refill with clean water.

After you finish washing, thoroughly rinse each section of the car with water. As you progress from one part to the next, you must keep the entire car wet to prevent water droplets from drying on the paint and leaving water spots.

Spray the hose over the bottom of your car to rinse the bottom of the vehicle from various angles. It is particularly important when the car is exposed to salt, which can damage and destroy the underside of your car.
